Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team in Buckinghamshire, offering a unique opportunity to work in a variety of flexible, temporary roles across the region, utilising long-term and short-term assignments to gain diverse experience in childcare and early years education. With full training provided, this role is perfect for individuals passionate about early childhood development, childcare, and education, regardless of prior experience in nursery settings or childcare environments. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of young children, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters learning, growth, and development in a childcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with organising and supervising activities suitable for children’s developmental stages, promoting learning and social skills through play, storytelling, and educational activities in a nursery environment
Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and playtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times in a childcare setting
Help maintain a clean and organised nursery environment, adhering to high standards of hygiene and safety, and ensuring compliance with early years foundation stage (EYFS) guidelines
Engage with children through play, storytelling, and educational activities, promoting learning and social skills development in a childcare context
Collaborate with the nursery team to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to childcare, sharing best practices and ideas to enhance the nursery experience and improve outcomes for children
Required Skills & Experience
Experience with children or childcare is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided to ensure you have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this role, including understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare practices
Organised, responsible, and attentive to detail in caring for children’s needs, with a basic understanding of early years education and childcare being advantageous
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, with a commitment to providing high-quality childcare and support in a variety of nursery settings
